20 years ago (1988)

Fishing boats and anxious anglers lined the sandy beach of Grand View Lodge Saturday morning before the shotgun start of the Camp Confidence fishing tournament.

30 years ago (1978)

Former residents of the Crosby-Ironton area will be returning home in large numbers beginning this weekend for the long-awaited Crosby-Ironton High School all-class reunion. Over 2,000 C-I graduates are expected.

40 years ago (1968)

By next year, visitors to Brainerd will find the greatest change in the city's appearance for a half century or more. From a visitor's stand point the city's two chief landmarks, the old water tower and the Northern Pacific depot- will have disappeared.

60 years ago (1948)

A Brainerd businessman treated the Brainerd Ladie's Drum and Bugle Corps and instructor D.C. Campbell to a chicken dinner. The group came as guests of Earl Mondor at the Vogue Lounge for honors received at the American Legion Convention June 20.

80 years ago (1928)

He - I like a girl who can take a joke.

She - Then you stand a good chance of being accepted.

100 years ago (1908)
