Mary Lemire

AITKIN -- Mary Lemire, 85, of Aitkin, died Monday, June 23, 2003, in the Riverwood Health Care Center, Aitkin. She was born March 11, 1918, in Bowlus to Vincent and Anna (Czech) Klisch. She grew up in the Bowlus area, attending Bowlus Elementary School. Mary graduated in 1937 from St. Francis High School in Little Falls.

She worked as a clerk at Kresgees 5 and 10 Store in Minneapolis. During WW II, she worked in our defense at McKlintoks and Munsingwear. On June 5, 1945, Mary was united in marriage to John Lemire in Bowlus. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church and St. James Council of Catholic Women. She resided at Aicota Health Care Center in Aitkin for the past 12 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John, on March 16, 1993; four brothers, Michael, Roman, Louis and Edward Klisch; four sisters, Elizabeth Kroll, Helen Klisch, Hattie Karpinski and Marge Birschbach; and her parents, Vincent and Anna (Czech) Klisch.

Mary is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Lori Lemire of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two grandchildren, Kimberly and Christopher Lemire of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two great-grandchildren, Nathaniel and Gabrielle Lemire; one sister, Agnes Fischer of Little Falls; and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the 11 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2003, funeral services in St. James Catholic Church, Aitkin. Father Paul Fruth and Father Francis Paquette will officiate. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery, Aitkin.
