Region 5 panel, director work out their differences

The Region 5 Development Commission and Executive Director Bob Hutton worked out their differences, it was learned today.

Hutton said this morning the result of a closed meeting last month was positive and the personnel issues between him and the commission have been resolved.

"We worked out all of the conflicting opinions on things and flushed it out," said Hutton. "And that is all I would like to say."

The Region 5 Development Commission Board of Directors asked Hutton to resign in May. The minutes from the director's board meeting May 8 state, "The board of directors talked to the Executive Director Bob Hutton. After speaking with him they went into executive session and reviewed the discussion. Bob Hutton was asked to return to the meeting. The consensus of the board of directors was to request the Executive Director Bob Hutton be given the opportunity to resign within the next 48 hours."

According to the bylaws of the Region 5 Development Commission, the commission has authority over the actions of the board of directors and may approve or disapprove any recommendation.
