AITKIN -- Ann Kay Gustin, 58, Aitkin, and formerly of Alaska, died Friday, June 23, 2000, at Riverwood Health Care Center of Aitkin.
She was born Nov. 10, 1941, in Anchorage, Alaska to George and Jessie (Kennedy) Maher. She attended schools in Anchorage. She lived in Anchorage and raised her family. She moved to Fairbanks in 1979. She worked as a housekeeper for the Culinary Union. She also worked as a bartender for the American Legion Post No. 11 in Fairbanks. She married Brad Gustin on Jan. 20, 1991, in Cottonwood, Ariz. They lived in Fairbanks until moving to the Aitkin area in 1990. She was a member of the Fairbanks and Aitkin American Legion Auxiliaries.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Johnny Vonesh, Seattle, Wash., James Vonesh, St. Cloud, and Jeff Vonesh, Aitkin; a daughter, Jan Stransky, Cold Spring; two stepdaughters, Dawn Gustin, Sauk Rapids, and Heidi Gustin, Waite Park; a step son, Cole Gustin, Aitkin; 19 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Her parents died earlier.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home of Aitkin with the Rev. Mark Marston officiating. Memorials are preferred to the Cancer Society.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and an hour before services Thursday at Sorensen-Root-Thompson Funeral Home of Aitkin.
