PINE RIVER --Julia L. Perkins, 74, Pine River, died Sunday, June 25, 2000, at Whispering Pines Good Samaritan Village of Pine River.
She was born June 4, 1926, in St. Louis, Mo., to Malcolm and Mary (Hanchett) McFarland. She married Lowell Perkins in 1958 and they owned and operated the Perkins Crosslake Garden Center. She was a foster grandparent in Pequot Lakes. She was a member of Crosslake Evangelical Lutheran Church, the Legion Auxiliary of Crosslake and the VFW Auxiliary of Jenkins. She was a member of the Nisswa Garden Club and many other area garden clubs.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Bruce Perkins, Pine River, and Robert and Malcolm Perkins, Crosslake; a daughter, Audrey Perkins, Pine River; six grandchildren; and a sister, Jean Odell, Naples, Fla.
Her parents died earlier.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pinewood Cemetery of Crosslake with Pastor Mark Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Pinewood Cemetery of Crosslake.
