STAPLES - Trevor Smith, Trevor Ness and Joe Roline each had three hits and Jordan Riewer struck out 11 as Staples-Motley defeated Wadena-Deer Creek 14-7 in American Legion baseball Monday.
Smith finished 3-for-5 with two doubles and three RBIs, Ness was 3-4 with two runs scored, a double and RBI, Roline went 3-4 with two runs, a double and RBI, Riewer was 2-5 with a double and three RBIs and Nathan Rinas was 2-3 with three runs.
In a complete game, Riewer walked one and allowed six hits and three earned runs.
