Its a mystery
No one will know what log homes will be on the Log Home and Cabin Tour in Crosslake, but attendees should be a treat. The tour is on its 17th year and has been a success.

A sweet and tasty way to work for a good cause
Herb Thiesse simultaneously worked at gathering donations and enjoyed an ice cream cone that he got from the food booth Saturday at the Good Neighbor Home Health Care garage sale in Baxter. The money raised went to the Senior Citizen's Center parking lot project.

Performing arts center deserves ovation
The Brainerd areas lack of a performing arts center or a large auditorium has been a long-standing deficiency in this region. Ask any parent whos had to squeeze family members into Brainerds Tornstrom Auditorium for a high school musical program or for popular performances by Garrison Keillor, the Minnesota Orchestra, Linda Eder or the U.S. Marine Corps Band.

Word must be spread
The patient who escaped last week from Baxters Community Behavioral Health Hospital was neither a criminal nor someone who law enforcement considered to be dangerous. Regardless, his 15 hours away from the hospital caused a considerable stir in the quiet Baxter neighborhood where the hospital was built.

CROSBY - Jamie LaDouceur and Derek Owen each blasted two-run home runs in the first inning to push the Brainerd Braves past the Cuyuna Range Miners 10-4 Sunday in Victory League amatuer baseball.
