A low pressure system moving east was expected to bring showers and thunderstorms to portions of the Ohio Valley, Great Lakes and Midwest on Saturday, while dry skies were forecast for most of the West.
The storm system could be severe in some areas, producing wind gusts in excess of 60 mph, hail and possibly flash flooding from Kansas to Michigan.
A disturbance in the Southern Plains was expected to push showers through Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas by the afternoon, bringing up to 1 inch of rain.
