Berg, Ericson record home runs in state all-star game

CHASKA -- Kyle Berg and Kevin Ericson of Brainerd High School each connected on three-run home runs Friday to lead the North team over the Metro West squad 9-4 in the Lions All-Star Tournament at Chaska Athletic Park.

Berg hit his bomb in the second inning and finished 2-for-2, while Ericson's home run came in a five-run sixth inning. Berg was the starting catcher and Ericson was the designated hitter.

Jon Czech of Little Falls played third base and finished 0-for-2. Cory Hollenhorst of St. Cloud Cathedral and Jeff Moen of Minnewaska tossed six innings of one-run ball for the North team.
