Bartle 'Bart' D. Duchscher Jr.

ONAMIA -- Bartle "Bart" D. Duchscher Jr., 71, Onamia, died Wednesday, June 21, 2000, at the Mille Lacs Hospital in Onamia.

He was born Dec. 29, 1928, in Minneapolis to the Bartle and Esther (Beckstrom) Duchscher. He grew up in Minneapolis where he attended school, graduating from West High School in 1946. He enlisted in the Navy on Aug. 26, 1946, and was honorably discharged Nov. 14, 1949. He married Gratia Mosal on Oct. 8, 1950. He was again called into active duty Oct. 23, 1950, for the Korean War and was honorably discharged Nov. 14, 1953. They lived in Minneapolis for 47 years. He went to school at the Minnesota School of Business in sales and advertising. He worked in advertising and print production. They moved to Onamia in 1997. He was a member of the Onamia Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Bartle D. Duchscher III, St. Michael, and Brian J. Duchscher, San Antonio, Texas; two daughters, Gretchen M. Duchscher and Stacy L. Duchscher, both of Brooklyn Park; and four grandchildren.

His parents died earlier.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at the Onamia United Methodist Church with the Rev. Allen Clark officiating. Burial will be held at a later time.

Friends may call one hour before services Monday at the church. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers to the donor's choice.
