Emergency personnel and dive team members continued to search Wednesday for a 28-year-old Andover woman presumed to have drowned Saturday in Lower Whitefish Lake.
The body of the victim, Heather Fick, hasn't been found. Fick has been missing since about 6 p.m. Saturday when she reportedly fell off a pontoon boat on the east end of the 8,368-acre lake, about a half-mile south of the channel with Big Trout Lake near Crosslake.
"The wind has really hampered our effectiveness," said Sgt. Phil Stoll, head of Crow Wing County Sheriff's Boat and Water Division.
Stoll said the emergency personnel and divers from the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Dive Team searched for Fick's body until about dusk Tuesday and plan to resume the search about 8 a.m. Wednesday.
The Brainerd Fire Department and North Ambulance also joined in the search for the missing woman Tuesday.
