E. River Road closed

East River Road in Brainerd is closed while construction crews build a bike trail adjacent to the roadway, said Jeff Hulsether, Brainerd city engineer.
The project, funded with a federal grant, will reduce the roadway width from 44 feet to 36 feet, which will allow room for trail construction east of the roadway.
One of the stipulations of the grant, said Hulsether, is that the project be completed by June 30, meaning East River Road will be open for the Fourth of July celebration at Don Adamson Field. East River Road is part of the July Fourth parade route.
