Brainerd author Wendy Rosnau to speak at library

Posted: Thursday, June 22, 2000

Wendy Rosnau, writer and owner of the CatTales Bookstore and Gift Store in downtown Brainerd, will speak and sign copies of her recently published book, "The Long Hot Summer," from noon to 1 p.m. Monday in the Brainerd Public Library's large meeting room.

This brown bag lunch event is sponsored by Friends of the Library as part of a summerlong series. It is free and open to the public.

A former hairdresser, Rosnau divides her time between the bookstore and gift shop she and her husband Jerry opened in 1998, freelance artist obligations and penning romance.

A great believer in the power of love and the words "never give up," Rosnau's goal of becoming a published author is a testimony that dreams can and do come true. Rosnau said that since she started writing full time, "I've received enough rejections from publishers to paper my bathroom."

"The Long Hot Summer" is her first book for Silhouette Books, Intimate Moments. It is a story about second chances and is set in Louisiana. Rosnau's second book, "A Younger Woman," will be out in April 2001.
