Little Falls tops Waite Park

ST. CLOUD - Ben Hanowski finished 4-for-4 with two doubles to lead the Little Falls Legion baseball team to a 4-3 victory over Waite Park Friday in the St. Cloud Tournament.

Little Falls jumped to an early 3-0 lead and Joe Rydeen made it stick as he struck out five, walked one and allowed three earned runs.

Logan Kalis was 2-4 and Mitch LeBlanc finished 1-1.

Aitkin sweeps Pierz

AITKIN - Kyle Hoffman hit the game-winning RBI single in the seventh to lead the Aitkin American Legion baseball team to a 6-5 victory over Pierz Thursday.

In game two Mac Jones pitched the win and hit a home run to power Aitkin to the sweep with a 10-7 victory.

Hoffman finished 2-4 with a run and a double in game one. Dustin Goble had a hit, scored twice and drove in a run. Dan Landrus had a hit, run and RBI, Scott Nyberg had an RBI and Brandon Perrine scored a run.

Matt Christensen pitched the win. He gave up three earned runs on five hits with seven walks an four strike outs.

Hoffman finished 2-3 with a run and a double in game two. Jones was 1-2 with a two-run homer. Billy Cluff finished 1-1 with an RBI and Perrine was 2-2 with two RBIs.

Jones allowed three hits and five earned runs.
