Aitkin theater to present comedy

AITKIN -- Aitkin Community Theater will present the comedy "See How They Run" by Phillip King at 7 p.m. June 29-July 2 in the Aitkin High School auditorium.

Tickets will be available at the door before each performance. Cost for the general public will be $5 per ticket.

This comedy of mistaken identity revolves around an English vicar (Ed Rosenbaum) and his American actress wife (Kelly Blake). Her uninhibited way of doing things upsets their reserved British neighbors, especially the spinster next door (Betty Soderquist).

Things start to get complicated when an actor friend of the vicar's wife arrives for a visit. He (Jon Hegman) needs to borrow clerical garments from the vicar. To make the situation more involved, a bishop uncle (Noel Bailey) arrives unexpectedly, followed by another vicar (Chuck Pettersen) who wasn't scheduled to arrive until the next day.

Adding to the confusion is the appearance of an escaped prisoner (Bob Lake), who takes the first vicar's clothes for a disguise. The other two characters are the maid (Jan Hegman) and a police sergeant (Rich Fannemel).

The production staff for this play includes Bryan Johnson as director, Loren Vonasek as set designer, Kari Lammers as costume manager and Friends of the Arts as the sponsoring organization.
