Wanted: Young guys who like to sing
I would like to add my two cents worth to the wonderful coverage the Dispatch gave us Thursday about the sad plight we have about members.
We need younger guys to take over and provide the quality singing we have had in the past. We also need a director to bring out the nice sounds we get with barbershop style music.
Judd Orff from Stillwater is volunteering his time to come up here and help us get rejuvenated. He is a longtime member of the Barbershop Harmony Society (formerly SPEBSQSA) and has been very active in many aspects of Barbershop singing. We are hoping we can get some ideas from him on how to interest more guys in our hobby.
Come to the north door of the Congregational Church in Brainerd next Monday night at 7 p.m. and find us singing in one of the rooms. Coffee and cookies will be provided later. Interested persons may call 829-1214 for more information.
