Lakes Financial builds lead

LEAGUE RESULTS

In a battle of No. 1 vs. No. 2, league leading Lakes Financial downed Halverson Law Office 28-16 on June 14 to increase its lead and drop Halverson to fifth in the men's golf league at the Legacy Courses at Cragun's.

Moving into the No. 2 spot is Deerwood Bank, which defeated First Federal 22-10.

Jumping six spots into the No. 7 spot was Shep's on 6th with its 28-16 win over People's Security.

Legacy Women

Jenna Buckwalter's 38 was the low round on the front nine of the Bobby's Course during the June 12 women's league at the Legacy Courses at Cragun's.

Also on the front of Bobby's Becky Butcher had the low putts with 15, Kay Gunnarson was closest to the pin and Jesi Boie had the longest putt.

On the back nine Ellen Uglem carded a 43 for low score. Alison Timmons had 15 putts for the low total. Pat Altrichter was closest to the pin and Bev Fruth drained the longest putt.

Joey Roelhke's 40 was the low round on the Par 3 course. Nancy MacDonald had 18 putts and Hilary Keprios had the longest putt. Lyn Carner was closest to the pin.

Breezy Point men

Cedar Creek Lumber remains in the lead of the men's Twilight golf league after tying Birchwood 6-6 June 14 at Breezy Point Resort.

Bodyworks moved into a tie for second with its 8-4 victory over Mills Motor.

Also in second is Pestello's, which tied Thomas & Associates 6-6.

Jean Appleton and Doris Moede shot 29 to win the two-person best ball event June 14 during the Breezy Point Resort's women's golf league.

Tying for second with 30s were the teams of Marcia Macomber-Bobbie Griffiths, Barb Owens-Patty Carlyle and Martha Polsfuss-Ardell Cook.

Verna Miller and Shirley Johnson landed in third.

Madden's women

Flossie Ahles shot 23 to win the even numbered holes with a mystery hole event during Tuesday's Madden's women's league on the Pine Beach East Course.

Winning on the Social 9 was Maryilyn Sobiech with a 26. Sobiech also had the longest putt and Mary Deyoe, who finished second with a 27, was closest to the pin.

Finishing second on the East Course was Jane Guild with a 24. Mary Claire Ryan shot 26 for third place. Tying for fourth with 28s were Connie Bender, Cathy Ross and Rose Johnson. Jan Sheets was fifth with a 29. Sheets also scored the longest putt and Pam Jager had the longest drive.

Barb Elmquist, Jager, Ryan and Elaine Gravseth all had chip ins.

The June 26 event will be on the Pine Beach East Course. Call 855-5941 to register.

Pine River league

Nancy Schmidt and Darla Lind captured the blind partner game during the June 14 Pine River Country Club's women's League.

Finishing second was the team of Peg Kristoff and Eileen Springer.

Eunice Sorenson and Gloria Taylor finished third.

Carol Coult had a chip in and also tied for low putts with Mary Jean Herdy.

The Pine River Country Club is hosting an invitational for the surrounding nine-hole courses on July 19.
