With the military

Capt. Thomas M. Goodrich, son of Irene Goodrich, Brainerd, received the Bronze Star while serving in Afghanistan. He recently returned from Afghanistan and is being promoted to major. During his tour, he was directly responsible for establishing working relationships with non-governmental organizations, arranging command-directed meetings for coalition forces and was the first U.S. soldier to perform civil-military operations in Feyzabahd, Badakshan Province.

Air Force Airman 1st Class Robert T. Ackerman, son of Roger Ackerman, Little Falls, and Mary Kay Gilman, Sartell, recently graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

Marine Corps Sgt. Douglas G. Buscho, son of Diane K. and David C. Buscho, Motley, recently reported for duty with Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 12, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, Marine Corps Air Station, Iwakuni, Japan.

Air Force Airman David S. Albertson, son of Lisa Johnson, Brainerd, recently graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

Air Force Airman 1st Class Joshua A. Rekstad, son of Bruce and Elizabeth Rekstad, Little Falls, recently graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

Air Force Airman 1st Class Andrew J. Pierson, son of Melissa Pierson, Pequot Lakes, recently graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
