ONAMIA -- Grand Casino Mille Lacs will host the Bluegrass & Arts and Crafts Festival July 19-20. Bluegrass superstar Ricky Skaggs will perform at the Events & Convention Center at 5 p.m. July 20. Under an outdoor canopy outside the casino, approximately 50 artisans will display their arts and crafts for sale, and bluegrass bands Bering Strait and the Lonesome River Band will play both afternoons.

Bering Strait will perform free of charge from noon to 5 p.m. July 19; the Lonesome River Band will perform free of charge from noon to 5 p.m. July 20.
The arts and crafts festival will feature handcrafted items from approximately 50 artisans. It will be open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. July 19 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 20. More crafters are welcome; call (763) 546-4852 to register or request more information.
Skaggs' hits include five straight No. 1 singles -- "Crying My Heart Out Over You," "I Don't Care," "Heartbroke," "I Wouldn't Change You If I Could" and "Highway 40 Blues."
Skaggs received his first mandolin at age 5, appeared on television with Flatt and Skruggs by age 7 and was performing with the legendary Ralph Stanley's bluegrass band by age 15.
