Highway 371 from the west junction of Highway 210 to Design Drive in Baxter is set to enter into the next stage of construction beginning this week.
MnDOT said his new stage of construction will have traffic traveling on the west side lanes of Highway 371 where the southbound lanes have been reconstructed. Traffic will also be using the newly reconstructed intersection of Highway 210 and Highway 371.
Because of safety concerns, left turns at Design Drive will not be allowed during this stage of construction. Excelsior Drive and Design Drive will also be closed at times but not at the same time.
Evergreen Drive south of the west junction of Highways 371/210 will continue to be detoured until the end of this next construction stage.
The project is expected to enter into the final construction stage in early August. This last stage is expected to take about a month to complete.
Public meetings regarding the road work continue to be held at 3 p.m. Thursdays at Baxter City Hall.
