DAWSON (AP) -- A rural Dawson man was killed after he tripped and fell on his gun while chasing a skunk from his yard, the Lac qui Parle Sheriff's Department said.
Larry Anderson, 49, was found dead Saturday morning at his home near the western Minnesota town. Authorities were called to the home around 7:30 a.m.
Frank Bielinski of Marshall, Anderson's brother-in-law, said Anderson fired a shot at the skunk and then pursued it, authorities said Sunday in a news release. Anderson tripped over a wire and fell, and the gun discharged, Bielinski told authorities.
The sheriff's department ruled the death an accident.
