Music General dancers receive more awards

Music General Dancers recently competed at Headliners Dance Competition at Northrop Auditorium on the University of Minnesota Minneapolis Campus.

The dancers received 20 Elite Gold Awards, 14 Gold Awards and one High Silver Award.

Receiving top scores in their categories were "My Boyfriend's Back," Children's Lines; "Blah-Blah Cha-Cha," Children's Groups; "You Can't Do That," Junior Lines; "Ooh Yah Koo" and "Je T'aime," tied for Junior Groups; "You Can't Always Get What You Want," Teen Groups; "I Wish," Teen Lines; "Dance Dance," Senior Lines; "Dynamo Volition," Senior Groups; and "Blue Girl Group," Senior Class.

Music General's top-scoring teen group of Becky Stanwood (left), Alexie Larson, Courtney DeChaine, Kalli Crawford, Giselle Tamasy, Kelsey Terhaar and Marlee Landsburg tapped to "You Can't Always Get What You Want" at the Headliners Dance Contest in Minneapolis.

Special Judges' Awards went to "Blah-Blah Cha-Cha," Judges' "Technical Excellence" Award; "Je T'aime," Judges' "Beautiful Lines" Award; "Ooh Yah Koo," Judges' "That's Entertainment" Award; "Ghost," Judges' "Dynamics" Award; "House of Cards," Judges' "Showmanship" Award; "Blue Girl Group," Judges' "Fantastic Choreography" Award; and "Call the Law," Judges' "Dynamic Duo" Award.

Sylvia Borash received the top score of Junior Solos, the Judges' "Broadway Bound" Award and was named Junior Miss Headliner.
