AITKIN -- The Aitkin County Sheriff's office has made a series of drug offense arrests the past few weeks.
On May 31, a 68-year-old McGregor man was arrested following a search warrant in Spalding Township. The offense involved the drug Roxicet, a generic form of Percocet.
On June 3, two 30 year olds were arrested following a search warrant at an Aitkin home. Charges involved possession of methamphetamine. The Aitkin Police Department assisted in the investigation.
On June 11, the sheriff's office searched a Spalding Township residence and arrested four people in connection with methamphetamine. A 28-year-old woman from McGregor was arrested and charged with crimes related to meth possession and sales and child endangerment. A 48-year-old McGregor man was arrested and charged with possession of meth. A 23-year-old Pine City man was arrested and charged with possession of meth. A 23-year-old McGregor man was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine and providing false information to a police officer.
On June 12, the sheriff's office executed a search warrant at a Workman Township residence. Two men, age 22 and 29, both of McGregor, were arrested and charged with drug sales and possession involving meth. Two women, age 21 and 27, both of McGregor, were charged with possession of meth.
Sheriff Scott Turner credited the deputies and officers for their efforts to curb illicit drug use, particularly meth. Deputy John Novotny was instrumental in all of the cases, the sheriff reported.
