WALKER -- A Cass County Jury has found a 20-year-old Bena woman guilty for the Oct. 4 murder of a Shakopee man.
Leah Dannielle Harper-Jenkins was found guilty in Cass County District Court Tuesday of second-degree intentional murder, second-degree murder involving a kidnapping and second-degree murder involving aggravated robbery for the beating death of 21-year-old Brian Jenny.
According to court documents Jenny, Harper-Jenkins and a juvenile male were at a party in Federal Dam. They left to get beer, at which time the juvenile and Harper-Jenkins struck Jenny several times with a baseball bat. He died three days later.
Harper-Jenkins' sentencing has been set for July 14, Cass County Attorney Earl Maus said today, and the juvenile male's trial is set for July 29.
