Doris Gruszka of Pillager won the closest to the pin on hole No. 9 at the Birch Bay social couples golf meet June 8.
Margarite Baker took first place in the Stableford format game with 16 points on the Lakes Course at the Pines at Grand View Lodge at the women's outing June 10.
Amy Lichty was second and Marge Weigel third. Carol Bombardier had the longest drive on hole No. 1 while Maxine Gifferson had the longest putt on No. 8 and Cari Nygaard was closest to the pin on No. 9.
The game on the Garden Course was low team putts and was won by Jan Hall, Marilyn Hall, Arlene Hart and Wendy Van Moer with 11 putts.
Longest putts went to Barb Elmquist (No. 7), Julie Owens (No. 8) and Candace Prigge (No. 9).
Upcoming women's outings will be at Deacon's Lodge 5:30 p.m. June 24, July 1 at the Garden Course, July 8 at the Pines and coed at the Preserve July 15.
Pine River Women's League
Audrey Holland, Lila Kersey, Donna Balzer, Audrey Lipke and Barbie Swenson won the guess your low net score game June 12 in the Pine River Women's League at Pine River Country Club.
Holland had the low putts while Balzer had a chip-in.
Blind partner with handicap will be the game for the June 19 meeting.
Demo day at Madden's
Chris Foley Golf Schools and Madden's on Gull Lake will host a Super Demo Day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Madden's airport driving range.
Representatives from Adams Golf, Callaway, Cleaveland Golf, MAC, PING, Taylor Made and Titleist will be on hand to answer questions and help with equipment selection.
Cuyuna Range golf tournament set
The Cuyuna Range Chamber of Commerce golf tournament is scheduled July 16 at the Lakes course at Ruttger's Bay Lake Lodge with a 1:30 p.m. shotgun start.
Cost is $90 per person and includes 18 holes with a cart, dinner and prizes.

Area golfers lose in MGA Senior event
DELLWOOD, Minn. -- Three Brainerd area golfers were defeated in the Minnesota Golf Association Senior Players Championship at White Bear Yacht Club Tuesday.
Jack Seiberlich of Pierz Municipal lost to John Christopherson of Edina Country Club 4 and 3. Ed Sauer of Tianna Country Club in Walker lost to Ken Mellem of Edina Country Club. R.J. Smiley of Mille Lacs Golf Resort lost by default to Tim Anderson of University Golf Course.
Holes in one
Jim Butcher, Brainerd, aced the 128-yard, third hole at Pine Meadows June 8 using a pitching wedge.
Frank Mariano, Pine City, aced the 122-yard, 17th hole on Dutch's Legacy at the Legacy Courses at Cragun's June 9 using a pitching wedge.
Mike Otis, St. Paul, recorded a hole in one on the 162-yard, 13th hole on the Preserve at Grand View Lodge June 15 with an 8-iron.
Ron Behrens carded a hole in one on the 6th hole at Pine Meadows of Brainerd with a 7-iron on June 15.
