Marlys Cartwright
Marlys Jean Cartwright, age 63, resident of Brainerd, died Saturday, June 14, 2008, at St. Joseph's Medical Center. Marlys was born Aug. 16, 1944, in Appleton, Minn., to Arnold and Ruby (Dopp) Sorenson. She had worked as a cook, most recently at Brainerd Manor.
Marlys is survived by loving husband, Willis D. Cartwright; two sons, Ronald (Cindi) Cartwright and David (Sheila) Cartwright; grandchildren, Cody, Matthew, Megan, Casey and Kayla Cartwright, Jamie, Jessie, Joie, Cory, Lori; great-grandson, Christian Cole; and Lucas, Avah, Michael, Morgan, Parker, Trinity and Owen; brothers, Richard (Lucy), Dale (Sandy), Dennis (Rodelle), Gerald and Chester Sorenson; sister, Ardelle (Bob) Besch and sister-in-law Lois Sorenson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold Sorenson and Ruby Olsen, and three brothers, Merlin, Ronald and Arden Sorenson.
Visitation will be 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2008, with Pastor Bob Twiton officiating at the prayer service 8 p.m. Wednesday at Nelson-Doran Funeral Home in Brainerd.
