Baxter should stand up
Is there anyone speaking up or writing into the paper supporting the Wal-Mart Superstore project who is not on Wal-Mart's payroll, either as a highly paid attorney or consultant or one of their store managers? Everybody who is supporting this project is standing to make money off of it. ...Those who don't have any money on the table don't want this project to come in as we don't want our community to look like a second-rate version of Brooklyn Park North. Baxter City Council should stand up for their people and stand up to the money.
Strange how dollar signs changes the giveaway offer of Paul and his Blue Ox.
Water testing needed
How dare those uppity citizens in Baxter cause so much trouble? They actually expect their elected representatives and city officials to represent them, and not just listen to Wal-Mart's contingent of out of town lawyers, PR people, etc. For some reason they want their community to look like the lakes area, not New Jersey. Can you believe it? Anyone who thinks that a super Wal-Mart, or any kind of megastore can have a "northwoods look" needs to have their water tested.
