Baxter's George wins women's skating marathon

Baxter's Rebecca George was the top female finisher in Saturday's Baxter Inline Marathon.

Unlike the men's race she won by a comfortable margin.

David Sarmientro Guerr paced the field and won the men's marathon with a time of 11:34.3, just a second better than Bloomington's Mike Anderson Saturday.

Randy Plett of Winnipeg finished third in 11:25.0.

Dino Musselewicz was the top area finisher as he placed 11th in 13:11.8.

He just topped George, who finished in 13:12.1. Kara Peterson of St. Paul was the second woman in 13:13.1. Heather Prois of St. Paul was the third female in at 20:05.9.

Baxter's James Ohem was 13th and Bob Musselewicz placed 31st.

Sartell's Eric Krueger was the top fit-rec finisher as he crossed the finish line in 1:20.08.

Cheryl Conkin was the top female fit-rec finisher. She finished in 1:30.23.

Race coordinator Terry Holm won the half marathon in a time of 40:22. Paul Meyering finished second in 42:31 and Adam Bradley placed third.

Lorraine Kehler-Plett was the top female finisher. She placed sixth overall with a time of 45:38. Leela Braun was the second women and placed 14th overall and Kathy Wagle was the third women and 15th overall.
