Tweed benefit

On behalf of Brian Tweed and his family, we would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for his June 2 benefit. Just the words "thank you" do not seem adequate. We are so overwhelmed with everyone's generosity and efforts.

There are so many people that took their own personal time to prepare a wonderful benefit that raised money to help with medical and insurance expenses. Just to name a few are Missy Trees, Dan Bridge, Kenny Palmer, Pequot Lakes American Legion, the Palmers and all their families. Also, thank you to all of the businesses and individuals that donated items for the auctions: 2 Gypsies in a Caravan, Al's Bakery, A-Pine, Aubrey's Interiors, Blondie's, Bryant Electric, Cabin on Pelican, Carriage House, Cedar Creek Lumber, Cottage Cafe, Country Cookin', Dan Keana, Famous Dave's, Grand View Lodge, Heartland Realty, Holiday Station, JM Speedstop in Jenkins, Kendall Candles, Lakes 24-Hour Fitness, Lonesome Cottage, Mary Frost, Maucieri's Restaurant, Merritt Jewelers, Northland Offsale Liquor, Oasis Restaurant, Old Milwaukee Club, Pequot Lakes American Legion, Pestello's, Pine River GM, Rafferty's Pizza, Reed's Market, Rockwoods Bar and Grill, Roma Foods, Shamp's Meat Market, Sibley Station, SuperAmerica, The Preserve, Timberjack Restaurant, Thurlow Hardware, UBC, Viking Label, Wallin's Berry Farm, Water Wars, Weise Clothing, Ye Old Wharf, Whitefish Golf Course and anyone we may have unintentionally forgotten to mention. Nisswa Women's Club>

The Nisswa Women's Club thanks all the volunteers and merchants who made the Rhinestone Cowgirls fashion show and luncheon a great success.

This event was held at Madden's Town Hall on May 29th and was a sold out event. Volunteers gave many hours to decorate, model or coordinate this fun annual fund raising affair. Area Merchants provided the latest fashions and were modeled by Nisswa Women's club members and celebrity guests. Thank you all for your fine efforts.

We would like to send a special thank you to Madden's for their attention to detail and efficient and pleasant staff. Also, for helping the models as they came down from the runway. That was a special touch.

The proceeds from the Nisswa Women's Club Annual Fashion Show support our numerous scholarship programs and other charitable services. Thank you to all the local businesses who donated time and products to ensure that we will be able to continue to support our many community programs.

We also thank each of you who attended the luncheon and fashion show and all who purchased raffle tickets and who participated in the silent auction. We couldn't have been successful without your generosity and support.

To the rescue

I would like to thank all those emergency service personnel whose very rapid response to extricate me from under my toppled log pile enabled me to be here to write this note of thanks. Specific thanks to Crow Wing County Sheriff's Deputies Gary Gutenkauf and Laurie Clarine, Brainerd Police Officers Mike Weinhandl and John Palcher, Brainerd Fire Department Chief Fred Underhill, North Ambulance supervisors, paramedics and EMTs, and Brainerd firefighters.

Good Samaritan

We wish to publicly express our appreciation to the Heritage Assembly of God Church for hosting our Good Samaritan Society Volunteer Appreciation Party last week in their fine facility. They were most gracious in fulfilling all of our needs to complete the program we had planned and were most helpful in every way.

The Heritage Assembly of God Church is a wonderful asset to our community and may the Lord bless them as they continue to minister to the people of the area and beyond.
