WALKER - Walter Robert Arseneau, 26, Pine River, pleaded guilty June 11 in Cass County District Court to felony burglary/first-degree assault.
Sentencing will be July 23. A felony aggravated robbery charge filed against Arseneau is expected to be dismissed upon his guilty plea to the burglary-assault.
He broke into a Chickamaw Beach house through a sliding glass door March 22. A man who was in a wheelchair inside the house was assaulted. Checks, cash and credit cards were taken.
Also charged with felony burglary and robbery in connection with this case is Jason Lee Sampson, 23, Bemidji, formerly of Pine River. He pleaded not guilty to the charges May 7 and is scheduled for a June 18 pretrial hearing.
Arseneau also entered a guilty plea June 11 to felony third-degree criminal sexual conduct on a case filed from an unrelated incident, which occurred Jan. 24 in the Pine River area.
The following appeared recently in Cass County District Court:
Justin Lyle Cutbank, 20, Onamia, was sentenced for gross misdemeanor carrying or possessing a pistol without a permit to 185 days jail with credit for 180 days already served and placed on two years supervised probation.
Danial Joseph Schwerm, 41, Palisade, was sentenced for felony criminal vehicular injury resulting in substantial bodily harm to 75 days jail or work release and 75 days electronic home monitoring, fined $1,000 or equivalent sentence to serve and placed on five years supervised probation.
Michael Lewis Kelner, 64, Remer, was sentenced for felony third-degree arson to 60 days electronic home monitoring, fined $1,000 and placed on five years supervised probation.
Daniel Lester White, 31, Remer, was sentenced for gross misdemeanor obstructing the legal process or arrest with force and/or violence to four days already served, fined $1,000 and placed on two years supervised probation.
