EAST GULL LAKE -- A revised concept plan for improvements to Gull Dam Road, or County State Aid Highway 70, will be presented at an open house from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 23, at St. Thomas of the Pines Church near Madden's at 11395 Pine Beach Peninsula Road.
The open house will provide an opportunity for residents, property owners and concerned citizens to provide input and comment on a revised concept plan for the new Gull Dam Road.
There will be an informal presentation at 8 p.m.
The Cass County Highway Department, in partnership with Crow Wing County Highway Department, is continuing with the project development process for the road.
The improvement will begin on the west along CSAH 70 just south of the Gull River Dam and continue along CSAH 70 across the Gull River on a proposed new alignment to Cass County Road 105. The corridor will continue east along Cass County Road 105/Crow Wing County Road 125 to the intersection with Trunk Highway 371. The length is approximately 4.1 miles.
This project is tentatively scheduled to be constructed in 2002.
The next step in this process will be to present the revised concept plan for public input at the June 23 open house.
The current concept plan is the result of reviewing several possible corridor alignments and public input.
The concept plan for the improvement will be presented to both county boards and the city of East Gull Lake for approval. Maps and displays will be available for review during the open house. Personnel from both counties and the consultant will be available during the open house to discuss the revised concept.
