The Brainerd freshmen VFW team beat Alexandria twice via the 10-run rule Wednesday.
Brainerd won the first game 11-1 in six innings. Taylor Main was 2-for-3 with an RBI, Brett Jenkins was 2-3 with two RBIs, Ethan Nichols was 2-3 and Alex Rohde had a three-run double.
Winning pitcher Joel Martin allowed three hits and no earned runs, struck out five and walked two.
Brainerd won the second game 15-5 in five innings. Matt Sather was 2-4 with an RBI double and Craig McCluney was 2-4 with an RBI.
Karl Freudenberg was the winning pitcher. In four innings he gave up six hits and three earned runs. Mac Jones pitched one inning, giving up one hit, one earned run and struck out two.
