William H. McClurg

William H. McClurg passed from this life on June 13, 2007, at the age of 90. He was born April 8, 1917, in Seymour, Iowa, to Samuel McClurg and Mary (Miles) McClurg. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and attended Drake University upon his return to civilian life. He married Hazel (Jury) McClurg and they lived and worked in Omaha, Neb., and Des Moines, Iowa. After retiring from SuperValu Foods in Des Moines, they divided their time between Venice, Florida, and Hackensack, Minn., where he lived until his death. He was an avid fisherman and a long-standing member of the Shrine. His brother, Miles McClurg, and his wife, Hazel, predeceased him. He is survived by a daughter, Dr. Carol Adele (John M.) Field, of St. Johns, Mich. Memorials may be sent to Union Congregational Church (P.O. Box 10, Hackensack, MN 56452), where he was a member. Arrangements are with Kline Funeral Home, Pine River.
