The show, "Military Humor from a Soldier's Wife's Perspective," planned Monday for the Brainerd Family Readiness event at the Brainerd Armory has been canceled.

The show was canceled due to lack of funding, the Brainerd Family Readiness Group reported.

Jail donation day set for Thursday

A Crow Wing County jail donation day will be from 10 a.m.-noon and 4-6 p.m. on Thursday at the reception area at the Crow Wing County jail.

Donated items can include soft-covered books, sealed games and puzzles, magazines (no sexual content), puzzle books and sealed playing cards.

The items will be collected by jail staffers for use in jail inmate programs. Donated items may be requested for a particular individual or unit to use but all items collected will be distributed as staff sees fit.
