BAXTER - A three-vehicle accident involving a semitrailer, pickup and car at the intersection of Highway 210 and Knollwood Drive in Baxter sent at least one person to the hospital Friday afternoon.
Officials on the scene wouldn't reveal much information. But the driver of the semitrailer, who withheld his name and place of employment, said he was driving eastbound on Highway 210 and struck the pickup that was turning to go west on 210.
"I couldn't stop the truck in time," he said.
Deputy Eric Klang said the semitrailer broadsided the pickup. The crash left gas spilling out of the pickup.
The semitrailer driver said the driver of the pickup was "pretty much" unconscious immediately following the accident and the driver of the car was walking around.
The pickup driver was transported to St. Joseph's Medical Center by ambulance and the condition of the car driver is unknown.
Eastbound traffic on Highway 210 was re-routed onto side streets.
