NCS hosts specials
BARROWS -- North Central Speedway will host two special races tonight where the winner will win $1,000. Two of the four classes that normally race at the third-mile dirt track, Wissota Street Stock and Wissota Super Stock, will compete for the prizes.
The second through fifth-place finishers in each class will win $750, $500, $350 and $300. The other finishers will also win money starting at $300. Racers who finish 15th through 20th will win $50.
Race officials are expecting a large turnout of racers because tonight is not a busy night of racing around the state.
Super stock racers expected to compete include Ryan Aho, Chisholm, who leads the class in national points as of June 11. Dave Mass, a former Brainerd resident and a regular at NCS, is second in the points.
Grandstands open at 5 p.m. Hot laps start at 6:45 p.m. with racing to follow at about 7 p.m.
