East Gull Lake meeting set Saturday
EAST GULL LAKE -- A public sewer informational meeting regarding the proposed $6 million East Gull Lake wastewater expansion project is set 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Thomas of the Pines church near Madden's Resort.
A project overview will begin the session followed by a question and answer period. City officials and Minnesota Pollution Control Agency representatives are expected to attend. East Gull Lake homeowners may meet individually with officials for specific questions at tables that will be set up after the presentation session.
Cost scenarios to homeowners are expected to be finalized in time for the meeting Saturday. The city's wastewater committee estimated sewer connections could cost $14,400 to $17,000 each.
Conservation district requests input
The Crow Wing County Soil and Water Conservation District and the local National Resource Conservation Service are looking for input into the next EQIP sign-up.
The agencies are collecting written comments from the public and/or any environmentally concerned groups concerning how applications are evaluated and ranked; application periods; identifying needs of producers; cost-share rates; new and innovative conservation practices; and public outreach.
A local work group will be considering all comments and making recommendations about how the EQIP program should be locally managed in Crow Wing County.
Comments should be in by Friday.
