PIERZ -- The Heartland Symphony Orchestra will hold its annual membership meeting and election of directors to the board June 24 at the Old Bank Restaurant on Main Street in Pierz.
The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. in the back banquet room. All HSO members and other interested parties are invited to attend.
The HSO is a nonprofit volunteer community orchestra made up of about 50 musicians from many communities in central Minnesota. The orchestra's musical director is Richard Haglund from St. Louis Park.
The HSO is governed by a 24-member volunteer board of directors with half of the directors from the Little Falls area and half from the Brainerd area. Each director serves a three-year term, so one third of the board rotates off or is nominated for re-election each June.
The annual meeting is a time for HSO members, players and board to meet and share ideas about the orchestra. HSO members also will have the opportunity to vote for candidates to fill several vacancies on the board of directors.
