CROSSLAKE -- Richard Kendall, 76, Crosslake, died Wednesday, June 12, 2002, at home.
He was born Feb. 20, 1926, in Mankato to Floyd and Grace (Weaver) Kendall. He attended high school in Mankato. He served in the Navy during World War II. Following his discharge he returned to Mankato and attended college. He married Harriet Anderson. She died in 1961. He worked at Mankato Citizens Telephone Co., now known as Hickory Tech Corp. He married Mary Kay DeMars on June 30, 1962. He was president of Computo Service Inc., of Mankato until his retirement on June 1, 1985. They moved to Crosslake in 1972. He was a member of Crosslake Lutheran Church, the Crosslake American Legion and a past member of the Elks and VFW.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Marcia Kendall, Mankato, and Jana Reed, Crosslake; two sons, Jay Kendall, St. Cloud, and Jim Kendall, Crosslake; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
His first wife, Harriet; a son, Steven; and a sister, Maxine, died earlier.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Crosslake Lutheran Church with the Rev. Mark Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Pinewood Cemetery. Crosslake American Legion Post No. 500 will provide military honors.
Friends may call an hour before services Saturday at the church.
