The Brown Bag Lunch Speakers Series at the Brainerd Public Library continues with Anne Green, author of "One Woman's War," at noon Monday. Green will share her World War II experiences as a member of the Women's Army Corps.
The book is a collection of letters home from her WAC assignments from 1944-46. Trained as a surgical technician, Green volunteered for special training as an occupational therapist and served at military hospitals throughout the country.
Born and raised in Minneapolis, Green is a retired school psychologist who spends her summers in a log cabin on Lower Whitefish Lake. She received her undergraduate and master's degrees from the University of Minnesota.
The rest of the Brown Bag schedule includes: Lorna Landvik, author of "Angry Housewives Eating Bon Bons," June 23; William Durbin, author of "Song of Sampo Lake," June 30; Sharon Chmielarz, author of "The Other Mozart," July 14; Bruce Eastman, CLC instructor and poet, July 21; and Arnie Johnson, author of "Got a Problem? Get a Duck! Getting Where You Want to Be," July 28. All events start at noon.
