Walter Erickson

CROSBY -- Walter Erickson, 90, Crosby, died Tuesday, June 10, 2003, at Cuyuna Regional Care Center in Crosby.

He was born Feb. 6, 1913, in Bessemer, Mich., to Isaac and Hannah (Potts) Erickson. He married Helen Stefin on June 3, 1968, in Crosby. He was a World War II Navy veteran, a member of the Myrin-James American Legion Post No. 443 in Ironton, a life member of the NRA and the Deerwood Rifle Club.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Dennis Petrich, Minneapolis; three daughters, Mary Jobin, Superior, Wis., Catherine Witter, Hector, and Barbara Nelson, Ironton; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Four brothers and three sisters died earlier.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Crosby with the Rev. Father Howard Eisel officiating. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby with military rites provided by the Myrin-James American Legion Post No. 443 in Ironton.

Friends may call one hour before services at the church Saturday.
