20 years ago (1983)

The commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Transportation told the 371 Bypass Committee in St. Paul that Brainerd "deserves" a bypass but would have to compete with a lot of cities that have worse traffic conditions.

30 years ago (1973)

The lights on the Gregory Park Fountain are going out for good. Park Board officials have finally decided that they can't keep up with the vandals. The fountain was purchased in 1967 for $7,500.

40 years ago (1963)

The Levis Soda Grill on Sixth and Laurel streets is now operating under the management of Franklin Ebner, new owner. Ebner purchased the establishment from Len Boeder, who has operated the soda grill for many years.
