Sue Ready of Baby Lake near Hackensack submitted this photograph last summer. At that time, she wrote, "I captured this lake image in the early evening. WASHINGTON - It's pretty obvious what was the most overhyped political story of the past week. The honors clearly go to the Hillary Clinton drama: Will she stand down? Will she endorse? Will she deign to accept the vice presidency? Will she join a monastic order and move to a commune? What a lot of nonsense.

Memorial Day was cold and windy but it did not stop the remembrance of our veterans. Thanks so much to all who helped with the many committees before, during and after the services, for those who died at sea, at the bridge; all veterans at the All Vets Memorial; the Bataan veterans at the Armory; and the program at the cemetery. Thanks to the spectators who braved the weather at all these places and especially those who watched the parade.

No U.S. Senator has a pro-abortion voting record further to the left than Barack Obama. His speeches say he seeks common ground with pro-lifers. This issue is either life or death for the unborn. What's there to talk about? He voted against the ban on partial birth abortion. He voted against restrictions on taking a minor across state lines for an abortion. He voted against providing legal protection for babies who survive abortion.
