Aitkin County authorities are investing the accidental shooting death last weekend of a 20-year-old Blaine man at a campground south of McGrath, on the Aitkin and Kanabec county line.
Brian Richard Games and two friends were target shooting with .22-caliber rifles at the Snake River Campground Saturday when Games was shot in the chest.
Games was taken by his friends to the Kanabec County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
While the circumstances surrounding the shooting were unknown, Aitkin County Undersheriff Scott Turner said it appeared to be an accident.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is assisting in the investigation. Autopsy results are pending with the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office.
