Woman missing since Sunday found

A Brainerd woman reported missing since Sunday turned up Tuesday afternoon at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd.

Catherine Emily Ann Lies, 22, was located "alive and well," just before 3 p.m. Tuesday after she called her family for a ride home, Brainerd Police Investigator Chad Kleffman said.

Lies wasn't a patient at the hospital, but was dropped off at St. Joseph's Medical Center. She had been with an acquaintance, Kleffman said.

"She said she was fine and not missing, a willing participant to be gone," said Kleffman.

Officers from the Brainerd police and Crow Wing County Sheriff's departments had searched for Lies for several hours Tuesday, including interviewing friends and family members.
