On May 28, Mary Ogren and Linda Axvig of Brainerd tied for first place in the 12-putt contest for the women's group at the Birch Bay.
In evening group June 2, Sandy Mihalic of Pillager won the putting contest.
Joyce Evans of Pillager recorded the longest putt on hole two during the couples social group.
The Birch Bay Women's Wednesday Golf Group meets at 8 a.m. All women are welcome. The Birch Bay Women's Evening group meets 4 p.m. Mondays. There is also a Birch Bay Couples Social Group.
Women's golf outing
The Lakes and the Marsh golf courses were used in the women's outing at Grand View Lodge's Pines Course June 3.
On the Marsh Course the team of Amy Litchy, Laurel Mezner, Paula West and Julie Hofius shot 38 to win the scramble. Second place with a 41 was Mavis Zachary, Maxine Gifferson, Mary Lienke and Kari Nygaard.
Lienke had the longest putt and Leslie Severson was closest to the pin in two shots as she birdied hole five.
On the Lakes Course, the team of Judy Eastwood, Sandy Sweeney and Ellie Balsimo shot 39 to win.
There was a three-way tie for second between the teams of Arla Johnson, Ginny Rousu, Candice Prigge and Gloria Pierson, Marilyn Kostorytz, Judy Baden, Diane Willis and Tracy Kaminski, Toni Czecok and Cherie Mans.
Phyllis Fortier recorded the longest putt, Bonnie Person was closest to the pin in two shots and Dee Mick had a chip-in.
The next co-ed outing is 5:30 p.m. June 17 at the Pines and the next women's outing is 5:30 p.m. June 24 at Deacon's Lodge.
Pine River Women's League
Carol Coult had low putts and Audrey Holland had a birdie on the fourth hole at the Pine River Country Club Women's League June 5.
Winners of the low gross game were Betty Huff, Coult, Donna Balzer, Holland and Roxanne Thompson.
The women's league plays every Thursday at 9 a.m. The Tuesday night league has check in at 3:45 p.m.
