MOTLEY -- Evelyn Leora Lucas, 72, Motley, died Saturday, June 7, 2003, at St. Cloud Medical Center.
She was born June 14, 1930, in Esterville, Iowa, to Charles and Geneva (Tinkman) Hales. She attended school in Esterville, Iowa. She married Ray Lucas and they lived in Fargo, N.D., from 1949-1972. She was a homemaker. She lived in Motley since 1972.
Survivors include three sons, Raymond, Motley, Ed, Staples, and Dennis, Motley; three daughters, Carol Edgerly, West Fargo, N.D., Linda Lucas, Motley, and Sandy Griebel, Delano; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Iona Smith; and four brothers, LaVerne, Kenneth and Charles Lucas, and Alvin Reeverts.
Her husband and her parents died earlier.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at United Methodist Church in Motley with the Rev. Richard Collman officiating. Burial will be in the Motley Public Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the Evelyn Lucas Memorial Fund to be designated later by the family.
Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples and an hour before services Thursday at the church.
