LITTLE FALLS -- Alexander "Alex" T. Barton, 77, of Little Falls, died Friday, June 7, 2002, at his home.
He was born Feb. 19, 1925, in Swan River Township, Morrison County, to John and Anna (Cichon) Barton. He grew up in Swan River Township and attended country school. As a young man, he worked on a farm as a farm laborer. He married Marcella Doucette Oct. 14, 1947, in Belle Prairie. The couple lived in Little Falls. He worked for Crestliner Boats, of Little Falls in the parts department until he retired in 1987. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Little Falls.
Survivors include, his wife, two sisters, Margaret Radziewicz, Chicago, and Loretta Worms, St. Paul; His parents; three brothers, Florian Barton, Raymond Barton, and Joseph Barton; and five sisters, Helen Opatz, Magdeline Johannes, Theresa Zimtl, Bernice Rashinski, and Marie Sobiech died earlier.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Nick Landsberger officiating. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery in Belle Prairie. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls. Parish prayers will be said at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel. Arrangements are with the Shelley Funeral Chapel.
