General plans for the Brainerd-Crow Wing County Airport Terminal were approved by the Airport Commission. The plans call for the construction of a $1,200,000 terminal which would be about 10,000 square feet.

30 years ago (1970)

Approximately 150 children participated in the fishing contest held last night at the Gull River Bridge west of Brainerd. The contest was the first special event of the summer sponsored by the Recreation Department.

The Chamber of Commerce has taken up the matter of disposing of the city garbage. It has been brought to the attention of the club that there is a very unsanitary condition in the city due to inadequate means of handling garbage.
