A boat and water safety class is being offered through the Gull Area Lakes Association in conjunction with the Crow Wing and Cass County Water Patrol on Thursday, beginning at 8:30 a.m. A fee of $5 is charged for lunch.
According to Minnesota state law, all teens 14-17 years old are required to have a permit to operate a personal watercraft and all persons 12-15 must have a permit to operate a boat with a motor of more than 25 hp.
The class is sponsored for those age groups in which they will get their temporary permit that same day. This class not only goes through all the rules and regulations, but everyone involved will have some behind-the-wheel training as well.
Call John or Cathy at 963-2229 for details and pre-registration. Class size is limited.
